A cantilevered beam assembly with a maximum resonance frequency is adaptable for supporting a transducer for use with a random access flexible disk file. The cantilevered beam assembly includes a first cantilevered member and a second elongated member coupled at one end by a flexible joint to the free end of the first cantilevered member. When used with a flexible disk file system, a magnetic transducer is seated on the second end of the elongated member while said elongated member is restricted to flex in one plane only. Claims (3) [1] 1. A device for moving a magnetic head between magnetic disks, comprising a rectangular plate base rigidly mounted on a carriage, a holder on which a magnetic head is mounted, hinges reinforced by a rectangular plate base and holder, a protective element and a spring characterized in that in order to reduce the error of displacement of the magnetic head, the rectangular lamellar base is provided with cantilever protrusions, symmetrically with which the holder, filled with a cross-shaped and mounted inside a protective element made in the form of an arc, with the possibility of oscillations perpendicular to the plane of magnetic disks, the arc being symmetrically and rigidly fixed with its ends on a rectangular plate base having a bevel adjacent to one end of the prookine made in the form of a package of plate springs and symmetrically with another condom on the holder.
